IR Detectors

The passive infrared detectors are designed for outdoor perimeter protection with coverage ranges of up to 150 m. They react only on movement into or through a precisely defined curtain shaped field of view and disregard slow changes of the surrounding temperature caused by the weather conditions. These unique detection features make the passive infrared detectors, the PIRD Series, the right choice for perimeter surveillance of any size since multiple units can be combined to provide longer ranges. Another important aspect of the PIRD series is the discreet design which lets it blend into the background without attracting attention. As the PIRD does not emit any detectable signals whatsoever and at the same time it resembles a camera housing, it is virtually impossible for a potential intruder to know how the site is protected, hence giving additional security.

The long distance Passive Infrared Motion sensor PIRD-L provides the newest technology for reliable operation. These models have a coverage range from 1 to 100 and 1 to 150 m touching the practical limits for passive detectors. Microprocessor based controlled differential detectors and temperature compensation provide a reliable detection and significant reduction of false alarms. Due to its small reception angle this model is also suited for perimeter protection.

Junction Box for PRID Sensors

The junction box is required to provide the PIRD sensors with the power supply. Furthermore, it contains the RS485 interface to communicate either via two copper wires or optical glass fibre (ORS485) with the central alarming unit located in the central rack of the control room. Three different junction boxes are available. The 24 VAC is used in connection with the main power supply (20.040.1052). For direct connection to the mains, the junction box 230 VAC is suited. For long distance (>2 km) coverage the optical ORS485 junction box is required.

Power Supply

The mains supply is required to provide a group of PIRD junction boxes (20.040.1516) with 24 VAC. The housing is weather proof according to IP65 and provides grommets for the mains inlet and 24 VAC outlets. With its capacity of 380 W it is able to operate 15 PIRDs.
