The drawing shows a layout for a Laser Light Barrier curtain
consisting of four protection lines in different heights. The
transmitter section of each unit is equipped with a Laser diode
emitting in the near infrared spectrum around 800 nm. This
radiation is invisible to the human eye.
Each Laser Light Barrier is mounted by means of a precision
adjustment holder to a stiff pole. Three different kinds of LLB
components are necessary to realize a closed perimeter
protective ring. A single transmitter (LLB-Tx) starts the cycle,
a combination of transmitter and receiver (LLB-Rx/Tx) forms the
intermediate barrier and finally a receiver unit (LLB-Rx) closes
the chain. The Laser beam is expanded in such a way that no
hazardeous radition is emitted.
Each emitter or receiver is connected to a junction box
providing a serial RS485 interface which is used to read the
alarm status by the alarm processor inside the main control
room. For larger distances (> 3 km) the bus is connected via
optical glass fibre to the control room.
The position of each barrier line is displayed by the synoptical
panel inside the central control room. In the case of an alarm
the area map is zoomed in such a way that the exact place of
intrusion is shown. |
